a. Electric Pencil 

Word processing application program which was first made is the Electric Pencil. Electric Pencil was made by Michael Shcrayer,
a programmer who lives in California in 1976.




b. Word StarIn 1979 John Barnaby writes a word processing program at the request of Seymour Rubinstein who was named Word Star. Some versions of Word Star and who has been on the market include the Word Star Release 3.4, Release 4.0 Word Star, Word Star Release 2000 + Release 2, and so forth.

Word Perfect
Bruce Bastian, a Brigham Young University (BYU) graduate student, and BYU computer science professor Dr. Alan Ashton joined forces to design a word processing system for the city of Orem's Data General Corp.minicomputer system in 1979. Bastian and Ashton kept the rights to the WordPerfect software they designed for Orem, deciding to market it through their own company. Ashton and Bastian started Satellite Systems International (SSI) to sell WordPerfect in 1980. 
Word processing application, now owned by Corel.WordPerfect 1.0 represents a significant departure from previous standards for the Wang word processor. At the height of popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s, it is the de facto standard word processor, but it has long been beaten in sales by Microsoft Word. While available in DOS and Microsoft Windows version, its popularity is partly based on the fact that it's available for various computers and operating systems, including Mac OS, Linux, Apple IIe. 

d. Microsoft Word 
Word processing software most widely used today is Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word is a word processing program most widely used because Microsoft Word has a very powerful capability to create different types of documents. In addition, Microsoft Word can be used in a way that is easy (user friendly) because Word has a graphical display beupa equipped with buttons and menus that allows users to work easily. 



e. Star Office Writer 

Word processing from the Open Office package of Oracle software. It was previously known as StarOffice application, and before that, StarWriter. applications based on OpenOffice.org Writer. 


















f. Open Office Writer
Word processor component of the OpenOffice.org software package. Writer is a word processor similar to Microsoft Word and Corel'sWordPerfect, with some of their features.As with the entire OpenOffice.org suite, Writer can be used across a variety of platforms, including Microsoft Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Irix and Solaris. Released under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public Licence, Writer is free softwareWriter is capable of opening and saving documents in a number of formats, including the OASIS Open Document Format 1.1 (its default format), Microsoft Word's DOC,DOCX, RTF and XHTML
